Food Deserts
Our Food Desert program is a bold attempt at reclaiming the narrative of what it means to live in a food desert community.
The food desert program acknowledges that areas usually labeled as food insecure are not actually food insecure just because of lack of access to grocery stores, transportation, prices but because of the fact that systemic racism and colonization has actually created the cultural, environmental, and historical conditions that have taken access to farming, harvesting, and nutritional food out of our gentes lands and hands.
The work we are creating has the possibility of lasting 4000+ years and being a space that yields nutritional food for a productivity cycle of 4000+ years.
