Please join us on Saturday, June 15th, 6pm-9pm, For the Sagrado’s 8th annual Mujeres del Desierto Art exhibition and Celebration at the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center . Through our ‘Barrio Innovation Community Academy’ we organize as well as participate in community events, engaging attendees and gathering community perspectives on local environmental and sustainability initiatives. As we embed ourselves in local community events our educational activities cover local history, centering native Sonoran desert ecological solutions, and inequities. We use tactile, arts-based methods to engage community attendees that invite people of all ages and backgrounds to participate. This work intentionally engages with familiar and accessible spaces as we work to create even more inclusive and resilient environments. As a part of our education programing, we will be present to engage with community participants in strengthening our bonds and knowledge of the Sonoran Desert.
